Would anyone attend an annual "East Coast Arconaut" meet in DC?

We already have a core group of languageophiles here in DC who would attend something like this as part of the FringeDC group anyway... And I have meeting space available...

If we get a few people giving arc presentations and have an arc "hackathon", would anyone show up for it? Would anyone want to present anything? I'm thinking in the June/July timeframe...

(I think it would be fun, but given the small size of the community right now, the odds might be against it...)

For the hackathon, I would think we'd come up with a web-based app concept, then everyone would come to DC to build it over a weekend... Since it'd be in arc, I think we could create something pretty sophisticated in very little time...

Create a website-building app, in Arc, which will:

1. give tips on-the-fly (i.e. while the user is building it) for properly writing for the web, as per useit.com

2. automatically include a decent search engine

3. make it easy to modify pages

4. include history for page changes (visible only to the website builders I suppose)

5. include an archive for older pages (i.e. for events etc.)

6. make it easy to link to other pages on the website, including back links (i.e. if a new page is related to an older, existing page, you can specify a back link on the new page which creates a link from the older page to the new page)

7. ???

8. Profit

P.S. When I said website-building, no, not a blog or programmer-oriented site: I mean a business site, one which doesn't suck like all the other b2b/b2c sites.

Doesn't look like there's enough East Coasters to maintain interest in this- Maybe another year :)

Waiting a while would be a good idea.

For me, it's way too early to tell whether Arc is worth a significant investment in time or not. The potential seems be there, but the actuality could be different.

I think pg has many responsibilities, and it's quite possible that other demands on his time could cause Arc to stall for a while (i.e. 2003-2008) or flatline.
